Fishermen's Buddy — Fishing Intelligence App
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Fishermen's Buddy mobile application (“the App”), operated by Dubaya Apps (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Fishermen's Buddy is a fishing log and forecasting app that records your catches, automatically captures environmental conditions, and predicts fishing windows based on fish biology and your own catch history. The App is available on iOS and Android; features, content, and availability may change as the App develops.
Forecasts and scores are estimates based on available data and are not a guarantee of catching fish. Always follow local fishing regulations, licensing requirements, and use good judgment and safety practices on the water — the App is a planning aid, not a substitute for your own judgment or for official marine safety, weather, or navigation resources.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You retain ownership of the catch records, trips, photos, notes, and any other content you create or upload in the App (“Your Content”). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content back to you solely to provide the App's features, including using your catch history to personalize your forecasts. We do not use Your Content for advertising or sell it to third parties.
You are responsible for Your Content and must not upload anything unlawful, infringing, or that violates the rights of others.
The App uses your device's GPS location to record where catches were made, display them on your catch map, and retrieve local weather and tide conditions. Location is only accessed while you are actively using the App; we do not track your location in the background. You can disable location access at any time in your device's system settings, though this will limit the App's ability to auto-capture conditions or plot your catches on the map.
Fishermen's Buddy is free to download and lets you log up to 25 catches at no cost. Unlimited catch logging requires a paid unlock, offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period's end. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings — deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. The lifetime purchase is a single one-time payment and does not renew. Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their policies.
Unlimited catch logging is currently offered at $1.99 per month, $19.99 per year, or $49.99 for a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices may vary by region and may change over time; the current price is always shown in the App and confirmed by the App Store or Google Play before you are charged. Your first 25 catches, and all features other than logging beyond that limit, remain free.
The App relies on third-party services — including Open-Meteo (weather), NOAA CO-OPS and WorldTides (tide predictions), USGS (river/lake water temperature), Supabase (account and data storage), and Sentry (crash reporting) — to provide its features. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or continuity of these third-party services, and forecasts may be degraded or unavailable if a data source is down or unreachable.
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular fishing outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any decisions made about where or when to fish based on its forecasts.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email below. We may suspend or terminate access to the App for any user who violates these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” below. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
